Privacy Policy
This policy explains what HardToSkip collects, why it is used, and the controls available to you, including when you connect a YouTube channel.
1. Scope and identity
HardToSkip provides tools for creating, reviewing, editing, downloading, and publishing image memes, video memes, podcast clips, and short-form videos. HardToSkip is the controller of personal information described in this policy. Contact us at [email protected].
2. Information we process
Account and billing information
We process your name, email address, authentication records, account role, plan, credits, billing history, and related support communications. Payment providers may process payment details under their own privacy terms. HardToSkip does not need to store a complete payment card number.
Content and project information
We process channel descriptions, prompts, transcripts, media, captions, edits, thumbnails, publishing metadata, job records, and generated outputs that you submit or create. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to use submitted media.
Technical information
We may process IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, security logs, diagnostic data, API usage records, and cookies needed for authentication, security, preferences, and reliable operation.
3. YouTube API Services and Google user data
HardToSkip uses YouTube API Services. Use of YouTube features is also governed by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Data accessed
When you choose to connect YouTube, HardToSkip requests the minimum permissions currently used: permission to view the identity and basic metadata of the YouTube channel associated with the selected Google account, and permission to upload videos to that channel. We receive the selected YouTube channel ID and title, OAuth access and refresh tokens, token expiry data, and the result of upload requests.
How the data is used
We use this data only to display the connected channel, maintain the connection you requested, and upload a clipping after you explicitly initiate the YouTube upload and approve its title, description, visibility, and audience setting. HardToSkip does not use Google user data for advertising, sell it, or use it to train generalized artificial intelligence models.
Storage and protection
OAuth access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest and are not displayed to other users. Authorized YouTube data is limited to the user and channel owner who granted access and service providers acting on our behalf under confidentiality and security obligations.
Revoke or delete access
You can disconnect YouTube inside HardToSkip. You can also revoke HardToSkip through Google’s third-party connections page. Revoking access stops future authorized API requests. To request deletion of stored Google user data or your account, email [email protected]. We will delete or anonymize the relevant data unless retention is required for security, legal, fraud prevention, or accounting obligations.
HardToSkip never uploads a video merely because a channel is connected. Each YouTube upload is a separate, clearly labeled action started by the user.
4. Artificial intelligence processing
HardToSkip uses AI to help propose, transform, analyze, or structure content. The AI model families publicly identified for these workflows are Google Gemini and OpenAI models. Depending on the feature, prompts may include the content, transcript, frames, instructions, or metadata needed to produce the requested result. AI output can be incorrect and must be reviewed before use or publication.
We do not use Google user data obtained through YouTube authorization to train generalized AI models. YouTube authorization tokens are not included in AI prompts.
6. Retention
Account, billing, security, and project records are retained for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal or operational obligations. Temporary previews and intermediate media may expire automatically. OAuth tokens are retained while the YouTube connection remains active and are deleted when no longer needed. YouTube API data is deleted or refreshed within applicable YouTube policy periods.
7. Security
We use access controls, encrypted connections, encryption for sensitive tokens, backups, logging, and operational safeguards designed to protect information. No online system can guarantee absolute security. Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you believe an account or connection has been compromised.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete personal information. You may disconnect YouTube, revoke Google access, delete project media where the product allows it, or contact us for assistance. We may verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
Cookies
HardToSkip uses essential cookies for login, security, sessions, preferences, and core functionality. Where non-essential analytics or marketing cookies are used, consent controls will be provided where required by law.
Children
HardToSkip is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended for users who cannot legally consent to these terms. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
International processing
Service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, appropriate contractual or legal safeguards are used.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when features, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the latest version. Material changes may also be communicated inside the service or by email.
