Privacy Policy
This policy explains what HardToSkip collects, why it is used, and the controls available to you, including when you connect a YouTube channel.
1. Scope and identity
HardToSkip provides tools for creating, reviewing, editing, downloading, and publishing image memes, video memes, podcast clips, and short-form videos. HardToSkip is the controller of personal information described in this policy. Contact us at [email protected].
2. Information we process
Account and billing information
We process your name, email address, authentication records, account role, plan, credits, billing history, and related support communications. Payment providers may process payment details under their own privacy terms. HardToSkip does not need to store a complete payment card number.
Content and project information
We process channel descriptions, prompts, transcripts, media, captions, edits, thumbnails, publishing metadata, job records, and generated outputs that you submit or create. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to use submitted media.
Technical information
We may process IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, security logs, diagnostic data, API usage records, and cookies needed for authentication, security, preferences, and reliable operation.
3. YouTube API Services and Google user data
HardToSkip uses YouTube API Services. Use of YouTube features is also governed by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Data accessed and permissions
When you choose to connect YouTube, HardToSkip requires permission to view the identity and basic metadata of the YouTube channel associated with the selected Google account and permission to upload videos to that channel. HardToSkip receives the selected YouTube channel ID and title, OAuth access and refresh tokens, token expiry data, and the results of upload requests. The connection is not completed if either required permission is declined.
How the data is used
HardToSkip uses Google user data only to display and confirm the selected YouTube channel, maintain the connection you requested, and upload videos through features visible in the application. HardToSkip uploads only content you created or explicitly approved. Individual uploads require your confirmation. Automatic uploading is disabled by default, must be enabled by you, and applies only to clippings you separately review and approve. Google user data is not sold. Google user data is not used for advertising. Google user data is not used to train generalized artificial intelligence models.
Storage and protection
OAuth access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest and stored only so requested uploads, including scheduled or background uploads you enable, can run without requiring you to remain in the browser. Tokens are never displayed to other users. Google user data is shared only with processors needed to provide the feature you requested, such as hosting, secure storage, and infrastructure providers, under confidentiality and security obligations. It is not shared for independent advertising, data brokerage, or unrelated purposes.
Disconnect, revoke, or delete access
You can disconnect YouTube from the YouTube publishing section of your HardToSkip channel. Disconnecting deletes the stored OAuth tokens and stops future YouTube API requests and uploads. It does not delete or change videos already uploaded to YouTube. You can also revoke HardToSkip from Google Account permissions. To request deletion of your account and stored Google user data, email [email protected] with the subject “Account and Google Data Deletion”. Stored Google user data covered by a valid request is deleted within 30 days, unless a longer period is legally required. If HardToSkip can no longer verify authorization, the affected Google user data is deleted within 30 days.
Google Limited Use
HardToSkip’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Connecting YouTube alone never uploads a video. You control individual uploads, automatic-upload opt-in, clipping approval, and disconnection inside HardToSkip.
4. Artificial intelligence processing
HardToSkip uses AI to help propose, transform, analyze, or structure content. The AI model families publicly identified for these workflows are Google Gemini and OpenAI models. Depending on the feature, prompts may include the content, transcript, frames, instructions, or metadata needed to produce the requested result. AI output can be incorrect and must be reviewed before use or publication.
We do not use Google user data obtained through YouTube authorization to train generalized AI models. YouTube authorization tokens are not included in AI prompts.
6. Retention
Account, billing, security, and project records are retained for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal or operational obligations. Temporary previews and intermediate media may expire automatically. OAuth access and refresh tokens are retained only while the YouTube connection remains active and are deleted when you disconnect. Stored Google user data covered by an account or deletion request, or data for which authorization can no longer be verified, is deleted within 30 days unless a longer period is legally required.
7. Security
We use access controls, encrypted connections, encryption for sensitive tokens, backups, logging, and operational safeguards designed to protect information. No online system can guarantee absolute security. Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you believe an account or connection has been compromised.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete personal information. You can disconnect YouTube in the channel’s YouTube publishing section, turn automatic uploading off, revoke Google access through Google Account permissions, delete project media where the product allows it, or request account and stored Google-data deletion by emailing [email protected]. We may verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
Cookies
HardToSkip uses essential cookies for login, security, sessions, preferences, and core functionality. Where non-essential analytics or marketing cookies are used, consent controls will be provided where required by law.
Children
HardToSkip is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended for users who cannot legally consent to these terms. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
International processing
Service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, appropriate contractual or legal safeguards are used.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when features, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the latest version. Material changes may also be communicated inside the service or by email.

We complete deletion of stored Google user data covered by a valid request within 30 days unless a longer period is legally required.
